For the first time Savera UK is hosting a youth-led conference. The Savera UK young people have been working hard to develop and deliver the conference, which will be during UK Parliament Week. UK Parliament Week takes place every year in November to encourage young people and adults throughout the UK to take an active interest in politics. The conference will take place on Tuesday 13th November.
The conference will consist of a live Q&A panel with local councillors, community members, education and health representatives, and will be chaired by the young people.
The conference will also include a very inspiring survivor's story. Along with Savera UK’s Patron, Nazir Afzal (Former Chief Crown Prosecutor for North West England) and the new Savera UK Ambassador, Maya Jama (Radio and TV Presenter) the Savera UK board and team would like to invite you to attend.
The overall aim of the conference is to raise awareness from young people for young people of the topics Savera UK covers, in relation to harmful practices and abuse. It is also an opportunity for young people to build their confidence and speak out about their rights/concerns, and how it impacts on their daily life and future.
